Two former teammates of Vinícius Jr. at La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week reached out to the attacker through social media.

This comes in a bid to recognise Viní’s excellence in his most recent outing on the international stage.

Brazil were of course back in action in the early hours of Thursday, locking horns with Scotland in their final group stage fixture at this summer’s World Cup.

When all was said and done, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops emerged dominant 3-0 victors.

And it was the aforementioned Vinícius who proved himself the star of the show, notching a brace en route to Man of the Match honours.

This made it a trio of successive ‘MVP’ awards for the 25-year-old at the World Cup, amid something of a resurgence for Vinícius at international level.

And as alluded to above, keen to pay tribute to the explosive winger post-match on Thursday were a pair of ex-Blancos stars.

Taking to their respective Instagram accounts, Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos made clear their appreciation for Viní’s exploits against Scotland:
